Oldest Chinese Publication to Accept BTC as Payment

One of the oldest publishers in China that is focusing on Sci-Tech, Beijing Sci-Tech Report (BSTR) has recently revealed their plan to accept cryptocurrency for subscription payment in 2019. Due to the volatility of the price of cryptocurrency, the magazine publisher then made it clear that a refund will be made in the case of price inflation to the subscriber.

Crypterium trade halted on Liquid Exchange platform

Crypterium (CRPT) trading has been temporarily halted on the Liquid crypto exchange platform. The Crypterium, an Estonian crypto startup, was initially launched in 2017. The trading was halted after a trader mistakenly sold 30,000 CRPT. The CRPT team expressed through a Telegram post that the trade led to a crash of BTC price.

The experimentation of the platform was made using BTC and smart contracts for a property sale. Reportedly, Bitflyer’s web service and API functions were used for the testing.

Seven arrests under call center and BTC fraud

The police have arrested seven people in Mumbai suburb of Mira Road for demanding payments in BTC under a call center scam. Reportedly, the scammers called various individuals and impersonated themselves to be representatives of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and asking payment of ‘loan tax’ in BTC. The police nabbed the computer system and financial documentation.


CoinMarketCap to accept Kind tokens

CoinMarketCap (CMC) has associated with Kind Ads. The CMC would be using Kind tokens for advertisement payments on its platform. The CMC revealed, “So for a start, in addition to accepting payments for ads in BTC and ETH (and fiat), we will now also accept payments for ads in Kind Tokens.” The Kind Ads help the publishers and advertisers connect directly.

Trend Micro has recently found a Bitcoin (BTC) automated teller machine (ATM) malware available for purchase online. The Tokyo-based security manufacturer reveals the malware is available in the darknet forum with the starting price of $25,000. Trend Micro then added that the seller of the malware has been receiving over 100 online reviews that indicate the seller is not a scam.

A two-way Bitcoin ATM has been launched by MoonZebra not long after approval of three bills for cryptocurrency and blockchain by the government in Malta. On depositing the money and entering public key, the amount gets deposited in the wallet.

The Huawei Technologies Company has declared the release of Bitcoin wallet application in the AppGallery App Store which is inbuilt on all Huawei phones. Alejandro de la Torre, the VP of business operations stated, “It is a good opportunity to tap into the Chinese market,” and believes that ‘there is a good use case for crypto payments to grow.’

Infinito Wallet, a fintech startup, has unveiled a multi-asset cryptocurrency wallet. It would enable the users to stockpile major coins and tokens. The wallet benefits the users as they need not maintain various wallet accounts or switch to other wallets for storage.

London Authorities Seized $700,000 worth BTC

According to the report, the London police have seized $700,000 worth of Bitcoin from the most prolific cyber criminals in the world, Grant West. The leader of the arrest led by Mick Gallagher commented, “These people generally feel they can operate with impunity, that they can’t be touched. We have now debunked that.”
